Tania was born and grew up in Pietermaritzburg, in 1982 she matriculated from Voortrekker Hoërskool, and started her career in the Pietermaritzburg Deeds Office in 1984. There she completed the Diploma in Registration of Deeds through Technikon R.S.A. in 1992. She completed her B.Proc Degree through Unisa in 2001 and her LLB Degree through Unisa in 2004.

Tania served on the Editorial Committee of The South African Deeds law Journal in 2003 and 2004. She worked herself up through the ranks and ended her career in the Deeds Office after 20 years as Assistant Registrar of Deeds, in 2005.

Tania completed her articles in Pietermaritzburg at Browne, Brodie & Fourie in June 2005, specializing in conveyancing. She was admitted as an Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary on 2^nd July 2007 in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.

She joined J Leslie Smith and Co on the 1^st of July 2009 as a Professional Assistant in the Agency Conveyancing Department.

Tania is the Chairperson of THE MSUNDUZI HERITAGE TRUST.

She has completed 12 Comrades Marathons.
