Candice matriculated in 1995 from Theodor Herzl High School in Port Elizabeth. She obtained her BJuris and LLB degrees from the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) in 1999 and 2001 respectively. In 2002 Candice commenced studying towards her Master’s Degree in Commercial Law and has completed Law of Income Tax and Banking Law.

Candice commenced serving her articles in Port Elizabeth in 2004 and completed them in Pietermaritzburg in 2005, having relocated to Pietermaritzburg in August 2004 with her husband. Candice was admitted as an Attorney in March 2006 and began practicing as a Professional Assistant specializing in Commercial Law at local firm Venn Nemeth & Hart Attorneys. In June 2007 Candice began lecturing law at Varsity College, Pietermaritzburg and lectured across a range of legal subjects. Candice joined J Leslie Smith in June 2009 and practices in the fields of Deceased Estates and Family Law.
