John Christie

John attended Hermannsburg School in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands, University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg and obtained his BA, B.Comm and LLB degrees.

John was admitted as an Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public specialising in all aspects of Property Law, in particular Sectional Title Schemes, Township Developments and generally all aspects of conveyancing. He has an in depth knowledge in all aspects of the deeds registration process. He is presently a Lecturer in Conveyancing and Notarial Practice and Procedure for the Law Society of South Africa. He has been actively involved in the local Attorneys Forum, is a former member of the Pietermaritzburg Legal Circle and acted as the Deeds Office Liaison Officer for many years.

He is the author of the 2nd Edition of Fouries Conveyancing Practice Guide published by Lexis Nexis Butterworths in July 2004.

John is a member of the Victoria Country Club, Collegians Harriers and the Natal Fly Fishers Club. He is an avid roadrunner having completed eighteen Comrades Marathons. He is an enthusiastic bird watcher and enjoys game reserves and visiting other countries in Southern Africa.
